Sowohl
im Restaurant als auch in den Kochkursen verwenden wir überwiegend frische Zutaten aus organischem Anbau, aus dem Meer, von heimischen Feldern und aus dem eigenem Garten. Ein Netzwerk von Erzeugern aus der Umgebung versorgt uns mit qualitativ hochstehenden Nahrungsmitteln. Diese sind die Grundlage für unsere kreative irische Küche unter Einbeziehung von Einflüssen aus anderen Kulturen. Zahlreiche unserer Gäste besuchen uns regelmässig wieder, um

Das Haus stammt aus dem Jahre 1775 und wurde mehrmals renoviert, jedoch ohne den Charme, den ihm eigenen Charakter und

Unsere Kochkurse sind persönlich von Rita Meade in freundschaftlicher, herzlicher Atmosphäre geführt. Die Teilnehmerzahl ist auf höchstens 10 Personen begrenzt, deshalb ist rechtzeitige Anmeldung empfohlen. Grundkenntnisse in Englischer Sprache sind empfohlen, doch nicht unbedingt Voraussetzung! Wir bieten auch Einzelunterricht, sowie Kurse mit Einführung in die irische Küche in dem Zeitraum, der Ihnen am Besten passt (Verfügbarkeit vorausgesetzt). Students working on two dishes per day
This course is designed with the young family in mind. Like minded people with children in school come together on Monday 2nd March at 10.30 am and cook happily for two and a half hours. The aim is to give new cooks the basics of cooking for your family. The only criteria is a love of learning and desire for some new cookery knowledge. We will cook seasonal food in a straightforward way developing flavours as we proceed.

Date: Friday 6th March to Sunday 8th March
Cost: Full weekend Euro 240 includes 2 nights bed and breakfast, 1 dinner, one lunch and 5-6 hours of cookery tuition

Although March is early Spring we are still working through cold, wet, dark days outside so inside we think of light, warm fires and hearty comfort foods that you will make for family and friends. So as Rudyard Kipling said “teach us delight in simple things”. We are following this theme in using farm-fresh, local, and seasonal ingredients and you will cook such rustic dishes as: Dublin Coddle; Cream Baked Eggs with Leeks and Smoked Salmon; Irish Stew; Beef and Guinness Casserole with Broccoli; Fish Stew; Spiced Pan Roasted Pear Cake; Apple Crumble with Traditional Custard

Selecting and using the finest natural ingredients in season makes Irish food special and combine these with simple cooking methods and complementary herbs and seasonings and you have the essence of Irish Cooking. "A Taste of Irish Cookery" introduces you to Irish soda breads and scones, fish and shellfish from the nearby sea and vegetables grown locally along with our beautifully flavoured meats, fruits and cheeses. Guests from other countries can request "A Taste of Irish Cooking" as part of their holiday vacation and we will introduce you to the culture of Co. Clare and Berry Lodge through its food in this action packed morning of cooking followed by lunch.
